Baseball Across The Region (BATR) Visits Ali Center on June 13, Public Welcome to Attend

(June 11, 2015)...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Louisville Landmarks are Part of All-Star Game Celebrations

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (June 11, 2015)… To celebrate Major League Baseball’s 86th All-Star Game held at Great American Ballpark—home of the Cincinnati Reds—the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, Muhammad Ali Center, and Louisville Bats Baseball Team will participate in the Baseball Across the Region (BATR) initiative on Saturday, June 13.

BATR is a twist on the passing of the Olympic torch—instead, the initiative uses an official All-Star Game baseball that visits a variety of regional stops to engage various neighborhoods, schools, non-profits, regional businesses, community attractions, and events.

The itinerary for the event is as follows:

  • 1 pm:  First stop at Muhammad Ali Center (near the torch that Muhammad carried at the 1996 Olympics)
  • 3 pm:  Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
  • 5 pm:  Louisville Bats’ Stadium (Slugger Field), ending before the Louisville Bats’ game around 5:30 pm
