Organization to Donate $3,000 Immediately
Pledging to give $1 for every admission ticket sold between December 15th and January 30th
In the aftermath of Friday night’s disastrous tornado outbreaks which devastated communities in Western Kentucky and other parts of the Commonwealth, the Muhammad Ali Center will donate $1 of every admission ticket sold to the relief efforts. This will go into effect on Wednesday, December 15th and run through January 30th. With the realization that the needs are vast and immediate, the Ali Center will donate $3,000 right now to the Governor’s Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund, and provide the balance based on visitation numbers at the end of the 6-½ week period.
Laura Douglas, Interim President and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center said, “This is the Holiday Season and the time of year we show our spirit of giving. Realizing that our Kentucky neighbors are without even basic needs right now, pitching in to help is our only option. Giving was one of Muhammad’s six core principles, and we know that he would be pleased we made this decision.”
