Surviving Darfur: Staring into the Heart of Human Suffering Exhibit

The Muhammad Ali Center, along with Catholic Charities and the Metro Louisville’s Office of International Affairs, co-sponsored this remarkably candid and affecting photo essay of 49 images taken in the Darfur region of Sudan. These photos were loaned to the Center from the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

Naturalization Ceremonies

The Muhammad Ali Center has hosted naturalization ceremonies every February since 2007. During the ceremony, participants take the Oath of Allegiance, which officially completes the process of citizenship. We estimate that, over the years, approximately over 3500 people have become citizens of the United States in the Center.

UAW/ Ford Appreciation Day

In June 2001 the Ford Motor Company Fund announced their donation of $5 million to the Muhammad Ali Center for its capital campaign. In 2006, the Muhammad Ali Center repaid their generosity with a UAW/Ford Appreciation weekend in gratitude for the hard work and dedication shown by over 15,000 employees
