Derby Brunch
On the morning of the 2008 “Run for the Roses,” Muhammad and Lonnie Ali hosted a unique fundraiser for the Ali Center–a small and intimate Derby Brunch at their home. The event was catered by Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse. Guests of note included LeRoy Neiman and Lennox Lewis.
Meeting Resistance Screenings
Filmmakers Molly Bingham and Steve Connors screened their documentary Meeting Resistance at the Ali Center. The film presents different views of the Iraqi resistance fighters – all who remained anonymous. The program ended with a question and answer session.

Featuring fascinating photos of Muhammad Ali at the pinnacle of his career, this special exhibition offered an intimate look at the Louisville icon through the lens of internationally acclaimed photographer Sonia Katchian. A select collection of 41 photos were chosen for the exhibit from Sonia’s thousands of Ali images.
Tibetan Oracle Event
A special presentation by The Medium of Tibet’s Chief State Oracle, Venerable Thupten Ngodup, drew around 600 guests to the Ali Center.
