The Eastern High School mural project originated winter of 2005 when a group of Eastern High School students from Louisville, KY visited the Ali Center and were recently mourning the loss of three classmates from an auto accident during the 2005-2006 school year. The Ali Center presented the concept to the school of creating three murals inside the Ali Center to honor the three boys’ lives. Both parties embraced the idea and began making plans for the project to be implemented during the summer. There are three murals that were painted; visitors can view them in the stairwells between Levels one and two; three and four; and on Level one nearby the educational classrooms.
