The Muhammad Ali Center hosts Ferdinand’s Ball, an annual fundraiser that kicks off Kentucky’s Derby festivities. Ferdinand’s Ball was established in honor of Ferdinand, the 1986 Derby winner who was slaughtered after his career ended. Proceeds go to Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Facility.
