Inaugural Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards

The Inaugural Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards, an annual fundraising gala honoring people from around the world who actively make significant contributions toward securing peace, social justice, human rights, and social capital, took place at the Galt House in downtown Louisville. Recipients included President Jimmy Carter for the Lifetime Achievement Award; Christina Aguilera for the Humanitarian of the Year Award; Michael Bolton for the Gender Equality Award; Mark Hogg of WaterStep for the Kentuckian of the Year Award; and six young adults, 30 and under from around the world, who are making significant contributions to society. This year’s recipients hailed from Afghanistan, Canada, India, Uganda, and United States of America.
