Inspiration Celebration Friday, July 7: Musicians, Humanitarians and Athletes Speak to Ali’s Legacy

WHAT                  Part of the “I Am Ali” Festival, Inspiration Celebration is held during the Run for the Roses girls basketball tournament at the Kentucky Exposition Center, with more than 600 teams and the general public in attendance. The event provides attendees, especially the coaches, players and their families, the opportunity to be inspired by the struggles, determination and triumphs of athletes, musicians and humanitarians. The evening honors Ali’s life and legacy, and shares his six core principles: confidence, conviction, dedication, respect, giving and spirituality. Ticket information is below.


                           Motivational speakers and participants include:

  • Laila Ali, retired and undefeated professional boxer, Muhammad Ali’s daughter
  • Dawne Gee, long-time news anchor for WAVE-TV (As of now, she and Armand Flowers (DJQ) from Alpha Media, will be co-hosts)
  • IMAJ, country singer, songwriter and humanitarian
  • Sydney Phillips, sued and won the right to play on boys basketball team
  • Linkin’ Bridge, local group working to inspire unity through music
  • Jenna Dean, local group with the #HipHopFunkSoul
  • Carly Johnson, local jazz musician, recently played Waterfront Wednesday

ADMISSION         Open to the public. FREE for 18 years and under; $15 for 19 years and older.
