Including Rededication Ceremony with Mayor Fischer

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (November 12, 2015) Ten years ago, thousands of people—those from Louisville, as well as guests from 12 countries and 32 states—attended one or more of a series of Muhammad Ali Center Grand Opening events, from a star-studded gala to an open-air public dedication and community celebration. To mark this significant anniversary, celebrate past accomplishments, and to continue the legacy set forth by its co-founders, Muhammad and Lonnie Ali, the Muhammad Ali Center invites the public to a day-long and FREE community event on Saturday, November 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The 10th Anniversary Celebration will include events and activities for the whole family to enjoy, including:  live music by Wolf Holler and Muddy Walters, a scavenger hunt, raffle drawings every hour, discounted memberships, a photo booth, a timeline display and video of the Center’s history, retail store specials, kid’s activities, food trucks until 3:30 p.m., and much more! The Center’s exhibits are included in the free admission and will be open until 4:00 p.m. A high point of the day will be a rededication ceremony at 1:00 p.m. in the Center’s lobby. Speakers include Mayor Greg Fischer; Donald Lassere, President and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center; and Ina Brown Bond, Board Chair Emeritus.

The anniversary celebration is presented by LG&E and WHAS-TV. Other community sponsors supporting the event include Walker Mechanical Contractors, Inc., FASTSIGNS, C&H Audio Visual Services, R&R Limousine, and Magbooth.
