Author Inspires Women to Become Great Leaders Through Great Relationships with Other Females

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (August 13, 2015) — Students and families have to deal with a myriad of concerns today, bullying being among them. Sonia Jackson Myles, Founder, President & CEO of The Sister Accord Foundation is determined to make a difference in this regard. As the founder of a movement that is focused on positive, supportive relationships among girls and women, she knows if we can show our students how to establish meaningful relationships with each other, we can stop the violence (self-inflicted or otherwise) that is plaguing our communities, states, nation and the globe. She is also committed to having young women understand the possibilities for their lives. As a result, she has added a STEM career focus for the 2015/2016 Leadership Enrichment Tea Party Tour.

With the launch of The Sister Accord: 51 Ways To LOVE Your Sister book, Jackson Myles has started what she calls “The Revolution of LOVE.” The Louisville event kicks off the 2015/2016 Tour. The tour will visit 6 additional cities during this wave: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City & Washington DC. 7 Tea Parties have been held to date across the country. The teen girls will experience an afternoon of fun, learning, and leadership skills building. They will learn the importance of Sisterhood and how essential it is in being a great leader. Etiquette guru, Jacqueline M. Baker, from Scarlet Communications, will also share important tips on dining, grooming, and communication skills (particularly in the area of social media).

“We are confident that this program will ensure that the teen girls, in attendance, will make better choices. Global Singer/Songwriter, Haben Abraham of The EriAm Sisters, will perform for the attendees. “We are pleased to be collaborating with The Muhammad Ali Center for this amazing event,” said Jackson Myles. Jeanie Kahnke, Muhammad Ali Center spokesperson, shared “We are so excited to host the first Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party of 2015 here in Louisville. Sonia’s vision and mission to have 1 billion girls and women love and respect themselves and each other is so important in society today, and critical to achieving gender equality in the world. We fully support her efforts.”

The Sister Accord Foundation is also pleased to have Toyota & Yum! Brands as new Corporate Partners this year. “My dream is coming to life in a major way. It is my desire to establish a pipeline of exceptional talent, via the Tea Party Program, for my Corporate Partners. I’m both humbled and honored to partner with amazing companies such as Toyota & Yum! Brands!” said Jackson Myles. “Toyota is proud to be a corporate partner for the 2015 Kick-off Tour of the Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party in Louisville. The Sister Accord program is in alignment with Toyota’s commitment to Diversity & Inclusion. The new STEM career focus that is being added to this year’s program will inspire many young women to consider this field as a personal profession. It is innovative programs such as this that will make an impact to our society today and in the future–one young woman at a time,” shared Adrienne Trimble, General Manager, Diversity & Inclusion, Toyota.

Muhammad Ali Center Board member & Vice President, Public Affairs, Yum! Brands, Laurie Schalow, stated, “We are honored to partner with Sonia and see her vision of empowering young women to become successful, compassionate leaders Come to life. If we all followed The Sister Accord, the world would be a much better place!”

Founder Jackson Myles said “I am on a mission to have one billion girls and women live the principles of The Sister Accord. I know how important it is to have positive, meaningful relationships with other females because it’s how I live my life. Mean girls grow up to be mean women, if there is no intervention. I’m focused on helping girls understand that it begins with them. If you love yourself, you will be able to give that love to others, and will see them as an extension of yourself, willing to do anything you can to help them. ‘Great Leaders Have Great Relationships™’!”
