Today, with the conviction of Derek Chauvin, justice was served for George Floyd. Muhammad Ali worked for decades to heal racial divides, to promote justice for all, and to alleviate racism, stereotypes, and hate. The Muhammad Ali Center calls for healing and unity in the wake of the jurors’ decision, and asks that this moment be one of empathy for the families involved. It is our hope that this verdict is a turning point on the  Road to Justice for others who have been victims to brutal intentional killings. Let this be a turning point for our shared humanity and the moment we all decide that systemic racism within our criminal justice system must end. Let this be a time of self-awareness, understanding, and civility. Let this never happen again.
