Join the Muhammad Ali Center in welcoming Morgan McGill from the We Don’t Wither exhibition to our FREE Artist in Action series event.
McGill is a painter and muralist based in Louisville and pays homage to the city in many of her works.
Gain insight into her artistic process, creative influences, and artistic journey as she creates a live mural within our temporary exhibit area. Morgan’s live mural painting will allow visitors to participate casually as they walk in.
Inspired by the idea of breaking out of societal “boxes,” McGill will draw lines and shapes symbolizing these constraints. Visitors can choose a paint color and fill in these shapes, then use a paint pen to share their experiences of breaking free from expectations and stereotypes. The mural will resemble her current gallery wall, with a blank space in the middle for interaction.
This event encourages conversations about overcoming societal norms and celebrating individuality.
