The Muhammad Ali Center’s mission and vision is to foster respect and mobilize Muhammad’s legacy toward a more just and compassionate world, inspiring all people to discover their greatness.

Guided by Muhammad Ali’s Six Core Principles, the Muhammad Ali Center features an interactive museum, educational programming, and special events to inspire youth and adults to pursue greatness in their own lives, communities and countries.

Our museum captures the inspiration derived from the story of Muhammad Ali’s incredible life and the principles that fueled his journey.

For two decades, the Muhammad Ali Center has served as a catalyst for education, civic engagement, cultural enrichment, and community connection. Through its museum, programs, partnerships, and global initiatives, the Center continues to translate Muhammad Ali’s values into meaningful action and measurable impact. 

Each year, the Center welcomes visitors from around the world to Louisville, creating opportunities for learning, reflection, and inspiration.

Recent impact includes: 

• More than 80,000 annual visitors experienced Muhammad Ali’s life, legacy, and values through the Muhammad Ali Center 
• More than 8,000 students participated in field trips, educational programs, and leadership experiences each year  
• Hundreds of educators were equipped with resources that bring Muhammad Ali’s story and principles into classrooms and communities  
• More than 150 community, corporate, and private events were hosted, generating economic activity while advancing the Center’s mission  
• The Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards recognized global leaders whose work reflects Muhammad’s commitment to service, justice, and human dignity  
• The launch of the Muhammad Ali Index, a groundbreaking research initiative measuring compassion, civic engagement, and social connection across communities  
• National and international partnerships that extend the Center’s educational and social impact far beyond Louisville

Museums are living institutions that must continually evolve. Through a transformational reimagining of the visitor experience – led by BRC Imagination Arts – and a purposeful, global expansion of its educational programming, the Center seeks to become the world’s leading institution for values-based leadership, civic engagement, and social impact inspired by Muhammad Ali.  

This vision will create a more immersive, dynamic, and accessible experience for visitors while significantly expanding the Center’s ability to engage students, educators, community leaders, and global audiences. And it will position Louisville as the home of a world-class destination that reflects Muhammad Ali’s enduring influence while serving the evolving needs of future generations.
